Mommy's Day!

Today is Mother's Day!

My childhood wasn't your average one. I was raised by a loving grandma and mom. I wouldn't have had it any other way! I was definitely a spoiled only child, but I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to grow up with two very strong, independent women as my examples.

When I was 11 my mom remarried and I now have a wonderful dad and two awesome little brothers. But nothing compares to the strength and beauty my mother has. She and my grandma have been the greatest examples to me in my life and I love them very much.

Although my grandma passed away at the early age of 60 due to a brain tumor, I know I will see her again and that she knows how grateful I am for her. I hope I can grow up to be the kind of strong mother both my mom and grandma were. They are amazing.

A last thought I must share is although the world may tell women to put careers and money and other unimportant things before that of being married and having a family, to that I say...DON'T. Whether you are religious or not, we have been given a divine gift to be able to create and have children. We shouldn't put things that don't last forever before something that does...being a wife and a mother. Call me typical Mormon or old fashioned, but I know through seeing the amazing strength and love of those women influences in my life that there is no greater career on earth.

So to them and all the other amazing mothers and future mothers out there...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

  1. My world changed into a beautiful place the day the Lord sent you to me pumpkin pie...I could never have hoped for all that would come wrapped up in a sweet, tiny little baby girl, named Steffany Ruby. The last 24 years have been full of joy, tears, love, proud moments, life lessons (u teaching me!) and I know much more to come...thank you for being my girl and for being all that you are!! love you always and forever...mom xoxox
